Each of the Une Femme wines is made in partnership with women in the wine world who we love. "The Juliette" is handcrafted by the wife-and-husband team of Julie Médeville and Xavier of Gonet-Médeville Champagnes. This grower-producer Champagne is made from hand-harvested, organically grown chardonnay and pinot noir grapes from premier cru and grand cru vineyards in Le Mesnil, Ambonnay & Bisseuil.
We wanted to create the perfect gift for celebrating, while also giving back. A portion of proceeds from all sales of Une Femme Champagne is donated to Dress for Success, the non-profit benefiting women on their journey to financial independence.
For celebrating your IPO, your first home, or simply getting through the week to Friday, Une Femme Champagne is made to celebrate life’s big wins... because it’s important to take time to raise a glass while you’re out hustling to raise the bar.
Julie and Xavier Gonet-Médeville are, in many ways, the first couple of French wines. Both hail from storied winemaking families: Julie’s family is famous for its incomparable Chateau Gilette Sauternes, and Xavier comes from a long line of Champagne growers in Le Mesnil. Leading a new generation of winemakers, they bring their family knowledge, methods, and passion to the many wines that they now make together. In 2000, when his family’s plots were being divided, Xavier opted for a modest collection of the highest quality Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards with a goal of producing only the most exquisite, small-production Champagnes. Champagne Gonet-Médeville’s Pinot Noir (Bisseuil and Ambonnay) and Chardonnay (Mesnil-Sur-Oger) are farmed organically, and each parcel is vinified separately to emphasize its individual terroir. There is no malolactic fermentation, and dosage is minimal. Julie and Xavier’s resulting Champagnes are elegant, delicate, festive, and easy to drink.

We love Gonet-Médeville’s Champagnes because they are so elegantly balanced. We find vibrant notes of lemon zest and almond on the nose, beautiful acidity and minerality in the glass, and a creamy finish.
This is a breakfast, lunch, and dinner Champagne: we love it with soft scrambled eggs for breakfast in bed, with raw oysters and lobster rolls on the beach, and alongside a perfectly roasted chicken at dinner. And don’t skip dessert: we’ll drink The Juliette any day with a warm fruit tart, or on that most special of days—with a slice of wedding cake.
